Solar Thermal SystemsA solar thermal system colects the energy from the sun and heats water. Solar thermal system is a cost-effective way to generate hot water for your home or business. The systems may be used to heat water for a wide variety of uses, including home, business and industrial uses. In Cyprus, a solar hot water system can provide up to 85% of your hot water needs with a corresponding reduction in your electricity consumption.
L.P. Technotherm specialises in the installation of Heat Pipe Solar Collector systems. The system is composed of heat pipe vacuum tube solar collector, pressure storage tank, controller and a working station.
The heat pipe collector system functions better at lower levels of solar radiation compared to the traditional direct flow systems. Additonal advantages include higher reliability, lower maintainance, and guaranteed corrosion resistancy.
In 2009, Cyprus introduced a New Support Scheme, covering investments regarding utilization of RES.
Solar Thermal Systems - GRANTS AND SUBSIDIES AVAILABLE 2009
Under this scheme, you might be eligible for a Cyprus Goverment subsidy of 30-45% of the investment in home or business solar thermal systems for central water heating. We redily consult and assist all our customers with the application process.
Photovoltaic Solar SystemsL.P. Technotherm designs and installs Solar Photovoltaic systems in residential and commercial projects. The photovoltaic systems (P/V) convert the solar energy to electricity. A solar PV array can be connected to the grid through an inverter, the energy produced is flowing to the grid and credit is received from the electricity company.
Within the framework of encouraging energy saving and the use of Renewable Energy Sources (RES), the Committee of the Special Fund for RES and energy saving through the schemes of the Cyprus Institute of Energy of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism offers motivation for the purchase and installation of photovoltaic systems with maximum subsidy of 55%, up to €64.930 for a maximum subsidised power of 20KW.

*The total price comprises of 1) the purchased price by EAC and 2) the subsidy from the Renewable Energy Fund. The initial electricity purchase price by the EAC may be modified due to decisions taken by the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA). It is noted that the total purchase price from the EAC, which includes the subsidy, will remain the same as the agreed price during the entire period of time that the agreement defines. Therefore, the percentage/amount of subsidy will be accordingly modified.
